Mafraq, Jordan – Project Size: 20 MW
RAI Energy has successfully developed many sizable renewable energy projects internationallly, with Jordan Solar One – a 20MW solar array located in Mafraq, Jordan – a prime example. In operation since 2016, the energy generated from Jordan Solar One is delivered to National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) through a 20-year agreement. The state of the art solar project supplies nearly 15,000 Jordanian households with clean, reliable and affordable electricity while avoiding close to 30 tons of CO2 each year.
Heralded as one of the largest private-sector led renewable energy initiatives in the Middle East when it first went into operation, Jordan Solar One is one of many projects being deployed to shift the energy sector in the region to clean generation. Thanks to RAI Energy’s committment to social impact, the projects delivered myriad community benefits, including technical training, mentoring and scholarships for local students.
