Joe Ronan is a seasoned industry veteran with nearly 40 years of experience in the power sector. He recently retired from a role as senior advisor to Calpine Corporation, one of North America’s largest independent power companies, and as currently serves the newest advisory board member of RAI Energy International.

Joe was part of Calpine’s leadership team for more than 20 years, joining the company in 1992 as General Counsel until 1999, before leading Calpine’s Government and Regulatory Affairs team as Senior Vice President until January 2014. As Senior Advisor, Joe is now working on the company’s government and regulatory initiatives.

Before joining Calpine, Joe gained previous experience as Assistant Regional Attorney with the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wyoming, and as an attorney for Getty Oil Company. He also has experience in the wind industry in California.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law. With his extensive experience in the power industry and his expertise in government and regulatory affairs, Joe brings valuable insight and guidance to RAI Energy as an advisory board member.
